I bought this Monopod to stabilize videos taken with my Nikon D90, and SLIK has done a great job on this one. It is fairly light and compact, the legs extend and retract easily, and it is well made and sturdy. Don’t judge SLIK by their horrible website – they must be busy making excellent photographic gear!
The best feature – it comes with an included quick release plate!
What’s not to like? The head only tilts in one direction – it is not a ball head.
But that’s easy to fix – simply rotate the quick release plate.
This monopod is awesome when it comes to bang-for-the-buck.
If you’ve got more money to spend, I’d go for the SLIK carbon fiber monopod.
