These three words sum up the Slik Standard Ball Head II, but they do not address the high quality standards to which this ball head is made. Using precision machined aluminum components and advanced high impact polymers, the Standard Ball Head II will yield years of trustworthy service.
A large, circular mount area will give your camera the proper support. The free-turning anti-scratch plate within the head will protect the bottom of your camera from damage and greatly reduce the likelihood that your camera could become jammed on the head.
The perfectly sized release lever makes releasing and locking the head in any position very convenient. It's easier to use than other ball heads having small release knobs that can be over tightened and make fine tension adjustments difficult.
The maximum recommended load is 5 lbs.
I have loved my slik tripod since I bought it in 1987. I recently bought a Canon eos 1D markIII and a heavy lens, My old head(pistol grip) just couldnt hold the weight. This is a very good option to replacing the entire tripod
